River/Remi puppies born August 27

I am excited to announce that River Rae (mom) and Remi (dad) had a litter of puppies on  August 27.  River had 6 males and 1 female.  Five males are still available. Puppies should all have a dark red finer coat.  River and Remi are Field Trial Goldens, meaning a sleeker body and finer hair (I find that River and Remi shed less than some of my other Golden's).  The puppies, when grown, should weigh around 60 to 70 pounds. Past litters of River/Remi have gone to family homes and they have adjusted well. They will need a lot of room to run and play to burn off their energy.  I anticipate these little guys to be very smart.  Some families have taken their puppies to training classes as a young puppy.  Early and consistent training goes a long way in helping the puppies and families adjust to their new life. 

At 3 weeks they will be given their first dose of dewormer and again at 6 and 8 weeks old. Starting between 3 to 4 weeks, they will be introduced to puppy food (Hills Science Diet Large Breed Puppy).   At 6 weeks they go to the vet for their first set of vaccinations and a puppy health check. They can go to their new families when they are 8 weeks old. 

The puppies will be socialized with the older dogs.  I keep a radio playing in the dog kennel so they will be accustom to people voices (plus I think the music calms the dogs down).  My dogs are not exposed to any other dogs and stay at home unless they go to the vet.  I do not use weed killer or fertilizer on my lawn.  The dogs have a huge area to run.
